President Orders Air Ambulance For Ekwueme’s Evacuation Abroad For Treatment

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered an air ambulance that will immediately evacuate ailing former vice president Alex Ekwueme to a medical facility abroad for treatment.
The federal government will bear the cost of transport and medicals.
Ekwueme, who is believed to be gravely ill, is being treated in a local hospital.
An Aso Rock statement on Friday said Buhari approved the treatment of the former vice president abroad following a brief the President received Friday on his medical condition.
“The approval covers the immediate charter of an Air Ambulance for the emergency movement and the cost of treatment.
“President Buhari prays that God will grant the elder statesman speedy recovery,” the statement signed by Garba Shehu, the president’s spokesman said.
