The family of legendary Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has thrown the public and entertainment industry into deep concern after revealing that the veteran star is battling Stage 4 cancer.
In highly emotional, tearful videos posted across social media on Monday night, August 17, 2026, the actor’s daughters, Lima (Haleemah) and Kira Taiwo, cried out for help.
They disclosed that hospitals have turned their father away and declared that they can no longer administer chemotherapy due to his deteriorated condition.
A Desperate Search for Care
According to the daughters, the family only discovered the full gravity of the illness about three weeks ago.
While his Indian medical visa has already been approved, his condition is currently too critical for him to fly or travel abroad for treatment.
The family explicitly clarified that they are not asking for financial donations from the public.
They noted that politician Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi) has been immensely supportive and has been footing the medical bills. Instead, their desperate plea is for anyone with specialized knowledge, connections, or alternative solutions to help save his life.
Open to Western and Herbal Medicine
With formal healthcare facilities stating that conventional treatment has reached its limit, the family is ready to explore all possible avenues. Kira and Lima made a direct appeal to:
Oncologists and Hospitals
Advanced medical centers or medical professionals capable of restarting chemotherapy safely or providing specialized cancer management.
Herbal and Traditional Practitioners Legitimate alternative medicine experts with proven, effective methods for treating severe, late-stage cancer.
The public and colleagues within the Yoruba film industry have quickly flooded social media with prayers and calls for medical institutions to intervene and grant the 66-year-old icon a fighting chance.
