Olusola To INEC: Declare Me As Winner Of July Ekiti Governorship Election

By Demola Atobaba, Ado-Ekiti

The Deputy Governor of Ekiti state and the People’s Democratic Party governorship aspirant, Prof.  Kolapo Olusola has charged the independent National Electoral Commission to declare him as the rightful and lawful winner of the just concluded July 14th 2018 elections.

Prof. Olusola made this charge today during the formal filing of his petition at the state’s high court to challenge the outcome of the gubernatorial elections.

Recall that the Professor had condemned the declaration of the All progressives Congress candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi as the winner of the elections saying that the process was downrightly false, compromising and discrepancy ladden.

While addressing journalists, the Professor maintained that his challenge of the election results goes beyond his intentions to be declared winner.

“I am challenging the election results not out of desperation to be governor but for reasons of future and posterity,  and largely on behalf of the people of Emotions,  who were taken aback by the outcome of the election”

” Without doubt,  the will of the people was subverted by those who have chosen to take Nigeria back to the dark days of electoral malpractices”, he said.

Prof. Olusola also expressed his disapproval of the desperation of put forward by APC to take over all the states in the country, especially those governed by uncompromising individuals such as Dr.  Ayodele Fayose

He further urged the Ekiti citizenry to remain confident, strong, keep hope alive and remain resolute in the fact that the stolen mandate would be recovered.

Also speaking,  the head of the petition’s legal team, Barrister Sola Olanipekun SAN, assured that his client would get respite in the law of the land and the mandate would be restored in due time and with maximum speed.

In the same vein, the state’s PDP party chairman, Barrister Gboyega Oguntuase noted that the July 14th elections stands as the ugliest and greatest fraud of the century which would be rectified with Prof.  Kolapo Olusola being declared winner.
