Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan-designate, is set to be officially crowned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, the capital city of Oyo State, on Friday, September 26, 2025.

His nomination has received the formal approval of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

This endorsement was further affirmed when a state delegation met with Oba Ladoja and members of the Olubadan-in-Council at his residence in Bodija on Wednesday.

Chief Adeola Oloko, a media aide to Oba Ladoja, confirmed the upcoming event in a telephone interview with our Correspondent, stating, “Oba Ladoja will be enthroned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, 26 September 2025.”

The coronation is set to take place at the iconic Mapo Hall in Ibadan.

Prior to this announcement, Oba Ladoja held a closed-door meeting with the kingmakers on Tuesday at his private residence on Ondo Street, Old Bodija, Ibadan North Local Government Area.

This was the first gathering since his return following the passing of the immediate past monarch, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.

The meeting lasted nearly two hours and was seen as a significant step toward the formal installation ceremony.
