Nollywood actress and producer, Allwell Ademola, has reportedly died at the age of 43.
Sources in the entertainment industry said Ademola passed away on Saturday after she reportedly suffered a heart attack at her residence before being rushed to the hospital.
News of her death has sparked an outpouring of grief across social media, with colleagues in the film industry reacting in shock.
Actress Faithia Williams took to Instagram to mourn her, writing, “Haaaa. This hit me so bad. Eniobanke. Allahu Akbar..Allwell.”
Also reacting, actress Mide Martins shared a photo of Ademola on Facebook, writing, “BLACK SATURDAY……This is not fair😭 May God forgive your shortcomings Allwell😭😭😭.”
Another colleague, Damola Olatunji, posted a candlelight image with the caption, “Life is a mirage.”
However, actress Bidemi Kosoko expressed disbelief over the reports, writing, “No way. No, no,, no. Ko possible ooo. This isn’t true. God forbid, in Jesus’ name.”
She added, “I refuse to accept this one Lai Lai God forbid. Olorun oni je. Just reply to my message, abeg Oremi/ aunty mi. I will wait patiently for your reply.”
Allwell Ademola was a multifaceted Nigerian actress, filmmaker, director, singer, and scriptwriter.
She made significant strides in the Yoruba film industry and was celebrated for her versatility and dedication.
Born on August 9, 1983, in Lagos State, Nigeria, Allwell Ademola hailed from a royal lineage in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
She was the granddaughter of Justice Adetokunbo Ademola, Nigeria’s first Chief Justice.
Allwell’s foray into the entertainment world began in 1986 as a child actor on NTA’s Animal Games with Uncle Wole.
She officially joined Nollywood in 1992 and rose to prominence in 2008 with notable roles in films such as You or I (2013), Omo Emi (2017), and Aye Keji.
Beyond acting, Allwell Ademola was also a talented singer. She established her band, Allwell and Company, in 2002, released an album in 2006, and the band was officially inaugurated in 2010.
