IPMAN Mourns Death Of Former President Muhammadu Buhari

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as a monumental loss to the nation.

In a heartfelt statement on Sunday, the National President of IPMAN, Chief Kolawole Adewoyin, on behalf of the association, described Buhari’s death as a national loss.

“The death of former President Muhammadu Buhari is not just the loss of a former leader but the loss of a father figure whose dedication and service shaped modern Nigeria,” the statement said.

IPMAN recalled Buhari’s unwavering commitment to fighting corruption, promoting national unity, and his efforts to stabilize the Nigerian economy during his two terms in office from 2015 to 2023.

The association acknowledged the former president’s resilience in the face of health challenges, often seeking medical treatment abroad, yet remaining steadfast in his duties.

“We stand with the family of the late president, the government, and all Nigerians in this time of mourning. His legacy will forever inspire us to work towards a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria,” the IPMAN President added.

The association also noted the recent Supreme Court affirmation of their National President’s leadership as a symbol of strength and continuity amid this period of national sorrow.

“His death marks the end of a significant chapter in Nigeria’s political history.”

IPMAN further recognized that many of Buhari’s legacies are being continued and improved upon by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose economic reforms aim to liberalize the economy, attract foreign investment, and promote sustainable growth.

“Tinubu’s policies, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of exchange rates, build on Buhari’s foundation while introducing new market-friendly approaches to stimulate Nigeria’s economic recovery.”

IPMAN urged Nigerians to unite in honoring Buhari’s memory and to draw strength from his example of service and patriotism as the nation prepares to bid farewell to one of its most consequential leaders.
