Four Killed In Fresh Suicide Bomb Attack In Borno

Four people have been confirmed dead while eight others sustained injuries when suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers detonated explosives in Umarari village, 5km south of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, on Saturday night.
The attack was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Borno state police command, Victor Isuku, who said the attack was carried out by three suicide bombers, a male and two females.
He disclosed that the bombers attempted to gain access into Maiduguri town but were challenged by members of the civilian Joint Task Force which prompted the bombers to detonate the explosives strapped to their bodies.
“At about 2100hrs of 18/3/2917, 3 suicide bombers, a male and two female, attempted to infiltrate Maiduguri town through Umarari village in Molai general area,” he said.
“They were sighted by Civilian JTF and challenged. They detonated the IEDs strapped to their bodies while running to different directions.
“Four people which include a Civilian JTF, a woman and her two children died while eight others sustained injuries, and have been taken to hospital.”
