The former deputy governor of Oyo state, Hazeem Gbolarumi has given posthumous award to late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Alao.
The awards presentation which took place at the 15th Gbolarumi Annual Special Ramadan lecture at Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Ibadan also witnessed awards presentation to other prominent Nigerians.
Among those who received the awards were the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Fadhilat Shaykh Abdul-Ganiyu Abubakar , Alhaji Abdul-Lateef Oyelade, Alhaji Mustapha Bayo Oyero, Alhaji Lamidi Ajadi, Alhaji Murtala Gbadeyanka, Alhaja Sekinat Adekola, Alhaja Modinat Bose Adedibu and Alhaja Nurat Bola Yusuf Odulaye.

Also delivering a lecture with a theme: “The Prophet Of God”, at the event, Sheik Muhydeen Ajani Bello urged all Muslims to have the fear of Allah in everything they are doing; admonishing them that every human being will account for his or her deeds.
According to him, Muslims should not only abstain from unpleasant deeds during the months of Ramadan alone but should ensure that after Ramadan they continue to live exemplary lives worthy emulation.
While speaking at the event, the organizer, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi said that the annual Ramadan lecture was put in place to make Muslims remember the essence of Ramadan and why it is important to observe fasting the way Almighty Allah wants it to be observed.
Also speaking on the reason why he was given awards to prominent Nigerians in this year’s Ramadan lecture; he said the purpose was to celebrate the individuals either dead or alive who have made remarkable impact in their various communities and human development.
