The Federal High Court, Lagos Division, has restricted Nollywood actress Doris Ogala from making online publications that could expose prosecution witnesses to harassment or intimidation as part of the conditions for her ₦30 million bail.
The case involves Ms Ogala and Chris Okafor, a televangelist and founding pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry.
The judge, Akintayo Aluko, granted Ms Ogala bail, subject to two sureties who must own landed property in Lagos State and provide evidence of proper registration at the state’s land registry.
The sureties must also provide letters from their employers attesting to their stability and credibility.
The judge said the bail conditions were designed to balance the defendant’s constitutional right to liberty with the responsibility of protecting witnesses.
“I have taken all of the above into account in a bid to attach conditions that will guarantee or ensure the defendant’s attendance in court for her trial, and the need to protect the witnesses of the prosecution from harassment, threat or intimidation,” Mr Aluko said.
As part of the bail conditions, the court also ordered Ms Ogala to surrender her international passport to the court registrar.
The court further restrained the actress from making online publications that could expose prosecution witnesses to threat or danger or engaging in any conduct that could undermine the integrity of the proceedings.
“Any unwarranted electronic publication capable of exposing the prosecuting witnesses to public harassment, ridicule, threat or intimidation, which is equally capable of exposing the court proceedings to ridicule and distortion, is accordingly restrained and disallowed,” he said.
The judge also raised concerns over the defendant’s alleged behaviour during proceedings on October 28, 2026, which he said disrupted the sitting and forced an emergency adjournment of 10 cases.
Ms Ogala had earlier been arraigned on charges of cyberstalking and other offences linked to her public comments about Pastor Chris Okafor.
In November 2025, Ms Ogala accused Mr Okafor of a long-term affair and breaking a promise to marry her.
The actress also accused the pastor of murdering her brother and burying the head of an unidentified person at his church altar in the Ojodu area of Lagos State.
