A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former gubernatorial aspirant of the party, Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao, popularly known as Allow Alao, has extended heartfelt greetings to Muslims in Oyo State, Nigeria, and across the global Ummah as they mark the beginning of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1447 AH.
In a statement released on Friday from his media office, Alao described the Hijrah as “not just a change of calendar but a deep reflection on sacrifice, patience, migration, faith, and total submission to Allah’s will.”
He highlighted the enduring lessons of Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) migration from Makkah to Madinah, emphasizing themes of endurance, unity, perseverance, and hope.
“As we begin this new year, I urge all Muslims to let the spirit of Hijrah guide our actions, intentions, and interactions,” Alao said.
He called on the faithful to renew their commitment to living by the Qur’an and Sunnah, uphold justice and peace, pray for leaders, and contribute positively to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria.
Alao also encouraged remembering the less privileged, extending kindness, and embodying compassion and brotherhood.
He prayed for Allah’s blessings, forgiveness, health, and protection for all, wishing the community a year filled with progress and divine upliftment.
“Let us hold onto hope as we journey through the year, just as the Prophet (SAW) held firmly to the hope of Allah’s promise despite the trials he faced during the Hijrah,” he added.
Alao concluded his message with: “Happy New Hijrah Year 1447 AH. Barka Da Sabuwar Shekara Hijirah. Hijrah Mubarak!”
