Trump Announces “Complete And Total” Ceasefire Between Israel, Iran Ending 12-Day War

President Donald Trump has announced that Israel and Iran have agreed to a “complete and total” ceasefire, set to begin at approximately midnight Tuesday Eastern Time, effectively ending the 12-day conflict between the two nations.

Trump made the declaration on his Truth Social platform, describing the ceasefire as a phased-in process over 24 hours.

The agreement calls for an initial 12-hour ceasefire period starting with Iran, followed by a 12-hour ceasefire by Israel, after which the war will be officially declared over.

“Assuming everything unfolds as anticipated, which it will, I want to commend both nations, Israel and Iran, for demonstrating the stamina, courage, and intelligence to conclude what should be referred to as ‘THE 12 DAY WAR,’” Trump wrote.

The announcement came shortly after Iran launched a limited missile attack on the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, which was reportedly preceded by advance warning to U.S. forces, allowing for precautions that prevented casualties. Trump dismissed the missile strike as a “very weak response” and expressed gratitude to Iran for the warning.

Neither Israel nor Iran has officially confirmed the ceasefire agreement. Israeli military officials declined to comment, and there was no immediate response from Iranian authorities.

The conflict had escalated following U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend, raising fears of a wider regional war.

Vice President JD Vance praised Trump for brokering the ceasefire, calling it a significant achievement in a Fox News interview.

He stated that the U.S. had successfully neutralized Iran’s nuclear weapons capability during the conflict and expressed hope that the ceasefire would hold.

The ceasefire announcement marks a potential turning point in a volatile region, with hopes that it will pave the way for renewed diplomatic efforts and prevent further escalation in the Middle East.
